IT ALL STARTED with six dahlia TUBERS

What started with six dahlia tubers and a love of flowers has grown into something far bigger than we ever imagined.

We’re Katie and Rob, the team behind Blume Estate. Over the past six years, we’ve built our flower farm and business from the ground up, with flowers at the heart of everything we do.

But our story didn’t begin at Blume Estate.

Our flower growing journey began in 2020 on a run down two acre property in Lyndoch, in South Australia’s Barossa Valley.

With no farming background, absolutely no idea what we were doing and just six dahlia tubers, we started experimenting in the garden.

Six tubers became rows of flowers. Rows became gardens. And before long, our little patch of land had become Little Lyndoch Flower Farm.

Over the years, Little Lyndoch became our place to experiment, learn and grow. We grew dahlias, ranunculus, hydrangeas, and zinnias, learning through plenty of trial and error. We expanded our flower fields, grew thousands of flowers each season and began sharing them through our floristry work, seasonal corm and tuber sales and our annual flower retreat.

As the business grew, so did everything around it.
We built our floral design studio, transformed the property and, in 2025, finished building our new home there.

Throughout it all, we shared what we were doing online, the successes, the mistakes, the flowers and the reality of building a flower farm and creative business.

Along the way, we’ve also built one of the most incredible online and local communities, with so many following our journey from the very beginning and supporting us every step of the way.

As Little Lyndoch grew, so did our ideas for what it could become. We dreamed of having more space to grow flowers and gardens, expand our production, welcome our community to the farm and create a permanent home for our retreats, education and workshops.

Eventually, we realised our little two acre property could no longer hold the dream we had for the future. So in 2026, we made the biggest decision of our journey so far. We packed up our entire life, flower farm and business and moved to 90 acres in Mannum, South Australia.

And now, we begin again…

Our new home is a 90 acre property in Mannum, with a 130 year old homestead and historic stone buildings that have stood here for generations.

We’re rebuilding our flower farm, expanding our cut flower and tuber production, creating new gardens and restoring the old stone buildings that will eventually become our farm shop and floral design studio. There is a huge amount of work ahead of us, and we’re sharing it all from the very beginning.

Our vision for Blume Estate is to create a place where flowers, creativity and educational experiences come together.

A place where we can grow and share the magic of flowers, teach what we’ve learnt and eventually welcome our community through experiences here at the farm.

Everything we’re creating is connected by the same thing that started it all,
a love of flowers and the joy that comes from growing them.

For those who followed us through the Little Lyndoch years, thank you for growing with us and welcome to our next chapter.

And if you’ve only just found us, welcome.

We hope that by sharing our story, we might inspire you to spend a little more time in your garden, try growing something new or finally give that idea you’ve been thinking about a go.

Welcome to Blume Estate.
